Yesterday was Mother's day there was no chance of avoiding it,everywhere people were buying bunches of flowers...Mum was so very quiet through the day, not saying much. We knew it was going to be a difficult day. This is one of the many many things we once took so for granted, now we have to realise our wee girl will send no flowers or a card with the lovely words she always wrote. Coming out of the shop I could see how hurt Mum felt, she said "so many people were in the supermarket to buy flowers", when Mum sat down I took her hand and said "You will always be Cheryl's Mum"...I find even writing this I am trying so hard to understand all that has gone before !!Mum smiled and said "I know but" So we got home and on the mantle piece a card had appeared..it just said "to Mum" ..Alistair has been in, Cheryl's name wasnt there and how difficult that can be. But that said we both know why Cheryl choose Alistair as her lifelong friend all those years ago. God bless them both MUM DAD xxx
