The day you took Gods hand and silently drifted away from our lives repeats over and over, you lay so quiet so still as we stood beside you holding your hand, so cold and so small. What could we do but cry and pray everything would be alright. On the third day in the afternoon as we stood beside you your heart stopped beating your life was over ..Later with your lovely Mum and I sitting in the hospital church not truly understanding you were gone from our lives forever Mum saying we cant leave Cheryl here alone. On the second day your eyes opened for an instant and we thought you could see us but it wasnt too be as your eyes closed just as quickly we thought our prayers had been answered.How can we tell anyone what leaving the Hospital did to us both that following terrible afternoon, if we cry enough tears could you by a miracle come back home to your loving Mum and Dad and your loving husband Alistair!!!. In the days afterwards we just constantly cried, just as we still do. You had the kindest heart of gold. At times not saying much but still the care and thoughts for all around you shone through. You were the child but as the years passed we relied on your amazing knowledge of so many things that could turn up unexpectedly. Even now some times at night we just despair, sleep cannot come, we see in our minds those lovely eyes and your childlike smile. Everything we had when you were with us then all seems like a part of something so long ago even like a dream. How we wish dreams could come true..We would hold you again and tell you a million times how much we love you so. How can anyone know the hurt and longing of losing their most precious gift of all ..Mum Dad crying forever for their beautifull wee lassie xxxx
